I've always loved the Christmas Holiday. Not because I love shopping or receiving gifts. Probably for different reasons than one might think. I tend to gravitate towards being with family, the feel in the air, the busyness of people rushing all around, and those last minute shoppers. I LOVE those last minute shoppers. I love those mommy shopper's who purposely wait till last minute because they think it's so much fun to take their kids out with them to the open late stores. Oh and let's not forget those shoppers
who
who
wait last minute to get their gifts and gadgets they apparently had no time to get in advance. They somehow, are the individuals complaining about long lines and not enough time. Its like they thought that nobody would be out and about or in their way. They however, are mistakenly wrong wrong wrong.
The Holidays in my opinion are not about gifts, cards, and making sure I buy something for those friends or family members I haven't even talked to in months and sometimes years. Tis the Season, is all about being Happy. Doing whatever the hell you want to do, that makes sense to you. I'm not trying to please anyone!
And I am most definitely not trying to please anyone this year.
This year I didn't even buy a Christmas card to send in the mail. Not even ONE... Harsh as it may sound. It's nothing against anyone, so please do not take it personally. Just know if you didn't receive a card from me this year, you're not the only one.
This year was different. I watched so many shoppers in public complaining about all the money they spent on other people and rushing to get those last minute gifts for people who ended up buying something for them. Why would you buy something for someone just because they surprised you with a gift you never thought they would even give you. That in my opinion is stupid.
That in my opinion is not what the holiday season is about and that's partially reason to my not giving cards this year.
If you expect a gift or even a card from anyone, you're not truly enjoying the Holiday Season. You apparently are doing this whole Holiday wrong!!!
Tis the Season, is about enjoying simplicity. Being happy. Maybe receiving a simple phone call from friends or family.
When was the last time you actually picked up your phone and called your friend or a family member you haven't talked to or heard from in ages?
What are YOU waiting for?

Oh you are one of those who sent a card this year and to you that was enough. You as well as I know, that is not enough. It's only enough to make you feel better about yourself for making a point to send a message to someone who you probably wont even think about until next year.
Let me tell you, I am as guilty as many of you, but this year I have chosen to truly enjoy the season for the simple things. I want to spend time with my family who is here for me everyday of the year, I want to give to those that make me smile, and I definitely didn't feel bad for not sending a single Christmas Card this year. I was not forced to give by feelings of guilt.
So here I am on Christmas Eve feeling Happy. Happy to be alive and healthy. Happy to know that Christmas is tomorrow and tomorrow I get to watch the people I love celebrate in a way that makes them happy too.
On this evening, don't feel bad if you didn't send a card or give a gift because you didn't have to. Instead choose to feel the air and enjoy the simple things right in front of you.
Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate.
