Nutrition Wise

Everyone has their own take on nutrition, including me.
If I've gathered any piece of advice throughout my years of experimenting with nutrition, it's this (keep experimenting, but when you finally find what works for you, STOP EXPERIMENTING.)

TRUST me on this one piece of advice. Trust your gut enough to listen and learn.
I went from trying every type of food on the market, nutritional supplement offered to mankind. Yes, I've had my years of battling with an eating disorder, so I know a thing or two about disordered eating. However, I didn't understand the least bit about in cooperating nutrition into my fitness plan. (That was everything going against my eating disorder. )

In 2010, after my son was born, we began our running adventures together. I knew I needed to fuel my body in order to run strong and be strong for my son.

I tried different nutritional products from our local bike shop. I tried different bread, different Sun butter, almond butter, honey & toast with bananas, before running. Nothing seemed to work right. My stomach was continously getting sick midway running and even post running. I was experiencing diarrhea, upset stomach, lower abdominal pain, and heartburn. I even tried eating nothing again, but knew that was not a choice I truly wanted to make.
I think it was finally in the end of 2012 beginning of 2013 I came across Vega Sport Nutrition and Bonk Breaker bars. The combination of the both of  them seemed to do wonders. I remember right after my yoga Buti training, I decided before the Honolulu Marathon 2012 I was going to try the no gluten no dairy diet. Two weeks prior to my marathon I found Bonk Breaker Blueberry Oat. This was exactly what I had been looking for and to this day I all am
100 % hooked!

The whole gluten free and dairy free diet I no longer participate in. Every now and again I'll continue gluten free and dairy free days but nothing as strict as I tried to do then.

So you might ask, what was I doing for electrolyte, pre post during nutrition. Let me tell you, that's when I found Vega Sport nutrition http://vegasport.com
Oh my, this is what my body had been searching for all along. Plant based nutrition, easy on my digestive system.

I've come to love almost all of their products to support my running and fitness lifestyle, with one exception to their gels. They are too thick and not all that good, if you don't mind me being completely honest. Aside from Vega gels, I am hooked on their Pre-workout Acai Berry, Electrolyte Hydrator Berry, Performance Protein Vanilla, and Recovery Accelerator Apple Berry flavor. These are my go to every time.
And I must say in this entire year, I have NOT experienced the incredible amount of stomach discomfort or diarrhea, as I have in the past. I HAVE NOT experienced anything like I did  before.
In fact, I am stronger and faster than I have ever been and find no problem with recovering after a good solid run. And if you don't run no worries, I am a die hard yogi and find this to be a compliment to my practice.

As for the gels, I'm still working on that, but have been using Power Bar green apple. I know they may not be the best option out there, but I'm taking them in one at a time.

Why I recommend sticking with what works for you:

I thought because the product I use can sometimes be costly, I would go for a cheaper plant based protein that I found at Vitamin Shoppee in town. Right away I was so upset with myself for selling out on my Vega Protein for Sun Warrior Protein. It was the the worst decision I have made. I seriously couldn't wait to finish the product and get right back to my Vega (so sorry for that one time switch)...
It may have been cheaper, but my stomach did not approve and neither did my running.
